Wall mount and stand for displays in TCO Certified Displays

We have received some questions about how  a wall mount function and stand are handled in TCO Certified Displays.

In TCO Certified Displays 7 the emissions criteria  A.4.1 and A.4.2 are completely excluded if the product is delivered without a stand. If the stand is optional then the product is tested with the stand.

In TCO Certified Displays 6 a product that was delivered without a stand is  tested, hanging on a wall mount with a shielded power cable for the emission requirement A.4.1 and A.4.2. A comment is added to the certificate about this.

Comment on certificate

A comment will be written on all certificates for products that either have no stand or when the stand is optional. The reason is that the emission requirement A.4.1 and A.4.2 is excluded if the product is delivered without a stand, which must be communicated to the buyer.

No other comment will be accepted regarding the stand or wall mount as this is not included in the test anymore in TCO Certified.

Simplified procedure:

For displays sold with or without a stand there are 3 alternatives which will be handled according to the below procedure:

  1. If a display is always sold together with a stand then emission testing is required in TCO Certified Displays
  2. If a display is never sold together with a stand then emission testing is not required in TCO Certified Displays 7. The certificate will include the following comment: “For products delivered without stand the emission A.4.1 and A.4.2 is not covered.”
  3. If a display is sometimes sold without a stand then emission testing is required in TCO Certified with a stand. The certificate will include the following comment: “For products delivered without stand the emission A.4.1 and A.4.2 is not covered.”
