• Upgrading existing certificates – All certificates issued before the start of the pre-test period (August 25 for Displays, October 1 for all other categories), may be upgraded to the New Generation for a 50% discount in certification fee. (2850 Euro). Note that the certificate will keep the original validity period, which is two years from the original certification date.
• Keeping the old certificate active and having 2 certificates for the same product – It is possible to keep the old certificate active and have a new generation certificate issued for the same product. In this case the new certificate would be at the full fee and the validity period would be 2 years from issue date. The old certificate can be prolonged until the final closure date of November 11, 2017.
Note that in many cases the original test data can be used to determine compliance and in some cases no additional testing is needed. However we still require a verification issued by one of our independent verification partners stating that the product complies with the new generation criteria.
Applications must be received by November 5 in order for guaranteed recognition among the first to certify!
When upgrading, the original certificate will become invalid and removed from our database once the new certificate is issued.
